INTRODUCING OUR SINGLES CHAMPION – SARA BEJLEK

Finals fever reverberated throughout Stadium Court at Zayed Sports City’s International tennis Centre on Saturday, 7 February, with a display of intense tennis action in the Singles Final of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open between qualifier and competition newcomer Sara Bejlek and number two seed Ekaterina Alexandrova. In the end it was Czech Sara Bejlek who secured the win 7-6(5) 6-1 and her first ever WTA 500 title.

INTRODUCING OUR DOUBLES CHAMPIONS – ALEXANDROVA / JOINT

An exciting contest ensued in the Doubles, with Ekaterina Alexandrova and Maya Joint securing an impressive victory over fourth seeds Tereza Mihalikova and Olivia Nicholls. The match ended in a super tie-break 3-6 7-6(5) 10-8 after briefly being interrupted by rain.

It has been a thrilling tournament with eight action-packed days of top tennis on display in the capital and with the new Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Champions decided, it is time to say congratulations to our well-deserved winners and a BIG thank you to all the players and fans for their amazing support.
